Dried Black Currants come from small, seedless Black Corinth grapes that has grown in Anatolia for centuries. The Mediterranean region particularly has a long history of cultivating these tiny seedless dark grapes.

Like other varieties of raisins, dried currants play a vital role in Turkish and world cuisine. Due to their flavor and nutritional value, they are widely consumed for cooking and baking. They are also used with yogurt, salads, and cereals. They can be eaten raw especially combining with other dried fruits like nuts. Their taste is similar to other types of raisins, yet as they are small, the taste is quite flavorful. Dried currants contain antioxidants, and are rich in different minerals and vitamins.

Black currants that we market are exclusively from the Mediterranean. They are dried, cleaned, calibrated, and lab tested. The cleaning and calibration facility is brand new and meets all the requirements by the European Union.
